Benicia City Manager's Report Lauds WattzOn's Home Efficiency Program

In his most recent report to the citizens of Benicia, Brad Kilger, the City Manager, noted that Governor Brown had asked the city to reduce its water use by 20%. In fact, the city achieved a 49% reduction.

The City Manager noted: "One important contributor to this amazing reduction is the Benicia Home Efficiency Program (BHEP). BHEP is a WattzOn program sponsored by the City of Benicia."

BHEP delivers not only advice on how to save water through completely free in-home consultations, but also provides free energy and water saving products to all participating residents. The program trains and employs Benicia High School students as interns. Since March 2010, BHEP has conducted 608 home consultations, with 181 of them completed in 2015 alone.
