WattzOn, a leading provider of web and mobile engagement tools that help people save energy and money, is pleased to announce two new partners, the Fairbanks North Star Borough in Alaska, and Blacksburg, Virginia, who are both participating in the Georgetown University Energy Prize (GUEP), in which 50 cities across the U.S. are competing to lower their energy use.
A goal of the competition is to transform America’s energy landscape by spurring innovative new models of community-wide energy efficiency that can be replicated and scaled across the country.
Both of these communities will be leveraging WattzOn’s EnergyCenter to improve scalability and measurement of their already successful programs. EnergyCenter allows partners to measure resident engagement in energy-saving activities and integrates home and utility data into actionable reporting. During the GUEP competition, WattzOn will help residents track their energy usage and find relevant energy-saving insights, while allowing program managers to focus resources.
WattzOn is pleased to be part of this exciting venture for these two communities, and looks forward to helping them save energy over the next two years as they compete for spots in the GUEP finals!
