In late breaking action last year, the City Council of Walnut Creek, CA voted to extend the Walnut Creek Saves community energy savings program developed and delivered by WattzOn. The program will now run through May of 2018. Council noted that residential energy use is the #2 source of GHG emissions in the city.
The highly successful program has served over 145 homes in just 11 months, saved over 50,000 kWh and delivered monthly bill savings averaging 7.25% per household. This combination of money savings and environmental impact creates strong program momentum. In addition, WattzOn has trained and employed 16 high school students as Energy Ambassadors.
Here at WattzOn we're proud of our collaboration with the City and its staff, and of our program leader Staci Givens. Way to go!
